The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) continues its series of workshops titled "Let's Talk about Human Rights" in partnership with the "Junior Chamber International" (JCI RABAT).
The third workshop on "Equality and Non-Discrimination: Cornerstone of Building a Human Rights System" was held on Thursday 10 October 2024, at the Rabat-Idriss Benzekri Institute for Human Rights.
During this workshop, Mrs. Bouchra Amraoui, CNDH Representative, provided an insight on the normative content surrounding equality and non-discrimination. She emphasized the role of Treaty Bodies and the importance of their general recommendations concerning these fundamental principles. Mrs Amraoui underscored the necessity of banning all forms of discrimination, including direct, compounded, and discrimination by association...
Additionally, Mrs. Amraoui outlined the national reference framework, detailing its features and the essential missions of the National Human Rights Council as a mechanism to protecting human rights, combating discrimination and fostering equality.
These workshops aim to enhance the capacities and knowledge of participating young people regarding the foundational concepts of human rights. They also seek to raise awareness about the current challenges and stakes related to universally recognized human rights principles.
