The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) participated in an expert meeting held in Egypt on September 11, 2025, discussing the development of a national action plan on business and human rights.

During this virtual meeting, Mr. Khalid Ramli, Director of the Cooperation and External Relations Directorate at the Council, highlighted the importance of strengthening corporate responsibility in light of the challenges marking the global human rights landscape.

He highlighted Morocco’s efforts in this area, particularly the integration of a national action plan into the strategy for hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Mr. Ramli also outlined the CNDH’s key missions, including handling complaints, issuing recommendations, and preparing studies, notably an analysis on human rights and sport published on the FIFA website. He further emphasized the Council’s training programs and capacity-building initiatives aimed at civil society organizations and trade unions.

The CNDH also highlighted its international engagement through its membership in the OECD National Focal Point and its cooperation with the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights. It further emphasized that the success of any national action plan depends on strong political will, the effective involvement of national institutions, and the ability to keep pace with emerging issues, such as AI, in order to ensure both its effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
