The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) welcomes the adoption of Morocco’s recommendations by the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights of the Arab League at its 55th session, which is being held over two days in Kuwait on February 4 and 5, 2025.

These recommendations focus on enhancing cooperation among Arab states in the legal and institutional frameworks for protecting the family, in addition to addressing emerging human rights issues.

The CNDH had previously urged the Committee to incorporate them into its action plan, including those related to artificial intelligence and human rights, as well as business and human rights.

The CNDH also submitted a memorandum to the Arab Permanent Committee in January 2022, calling for the inclusion of equality and gender parity on its agenda. Additionally, a clarification memorandum on emerging human rights issues was submitted in the same period.

The CNDH is participating in the current session, represented by Mr. Mohamed Sabri, Advisor in the CNDH Chairperson’s Office. This participation follows an invitation extended by the General Secretariat of the Arab League, with the CNDH acting as an independent observer at the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights.
