
At the annual meeting of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHR) held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Ms. Amina Bouayach’s mission as head of the GANHRI Secretariat officially ended. After three years of exemplary leadership, Ms. Bouayach is celebrated for her "exceptional leadership" and her role in "leading GANHRI," as noted in the nomination letter on behalf of Africa supporting her presidency.
The African Network of National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI) commended Ms. Bouayach for her extensive experience in representing the GANHRI in international forums, her strategic oversight of key operations, and her steadfast commitment to promoting human rights. NANHRI emphasized that Ms. Bouayach’s presidency will ensure continuity within GANHRI’s leadership, safeguard its core values and principles, and strengthen its role on the international stage.
Today, CNDH Chairperson officially handed over the Secretariat’s responsibilities to Mrs. Alyson Kilpatrick, President of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission.
