The National Human Rights Council (CNDH), in its capacity as President of the Working Group on Migration of the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI), took part on Monday, June 15, 2020, in a webinar on "Access to justice for children on the move".

This webinar was organized by NANHRI, in cooperation with the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ), in commemoration of the Day of the African Child.

Panelist alongside the Kenya NHRI, the CNDH shared its actions conducted at the continental and national levels, including the ones carried out in the context of combating the COVID 19.

The CNDH also stressed the importance of data to address issues related to the rights of migrant children and the need for collective African responses to face migration challenges, including the access of migrant children to justice. Furthermore, the CNDH underlined the importance of working with the African Observatory of Migration, which will be established in Morocco.

This webinar aims at establishing a dialogue on the plight of children on the move and advocate for their rights. It also intends to share experiences in this field and provide a platform for collaboration on this topic in a view to develop tangible strategies towards enhancing access to justice for the migrant’s children.
