On the sidelines of the announcement ceremony of members of the Regional Human Rights Commission of Marrakech-Safi region (CRDH) chaired by Ms. Amina Bouayach, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and accompanied by Mr. Mustapha Laarissa, CRDH Chair, the Regional Commission updated its partnership and cooperation agreement with the University Cadi Ayyad, On Thursday, October 22, 2020, in Marrakech, Morocco.
In this context, the Chair of the CRDH and Mr. Moulay Lhassan Hbid, President of the University of Cadi Ayyad signed the updated version of the partnership and cooperation agreement between the CRDH and the university. CNDH Chairperson also took part in this event.
This signature is part of CNDH opening, through its regional commissions, to all actors. This was emphasized by Ms. Bouayach in her opening statement where she referred to the need for the regional commissions to open and interact with all institutional and civil actors at the regional level, considering them as essential partners to meet CNDH's missions as part of complementarity between national and regional actions.
This agreement aims to invest all the available possibilities to the two parties to coordinate and spread the culture of human rights on the largest scale. It also intends to encourage all initiatives aiming to promote reflection and fieldwork related to human rights.
Following the terms of the agreement, the CRDH is committed to involving university professors in training programs and promoting events organized in the region by the CRDH or CNDH. The CRDH is also committed to organizing seminars and training sessions on human rights for students. Furthermore, the CRDH will provide the university with all available documents related to international and regional conventions related to human rights, etc.
For its part, the University Cadi Ayyad is committed to developing scientific and intellectual research on human rights, implementing the chair of the University Cadi Ayyad for Citizenship and Human Rights, and spreading the culture and education on human rights at the university. Besides, the university will share experiences, information, documents, and relevant publications, and organize special joint events to introduce international human rights standards, international mechanisms, etc.
