The Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) Bureau meeting was launched today in Marrakech, Morocco, chaired by Mrs. Amina Bouayach, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Council Morocco (CNDH) and GANHRI Vice-President, and Mrs. Maryam Al Attiyah, President of the Qatar National Human Rights Commission.
In her opening statement, Mrs. Bouayach welcomed the growing recognition of the contribution of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) at the international, regional and national levels and their contributions to the debates and proposals for the consolidation of human rights actors’ voices.
This meeting is being held from 27 to 28 October 2022. It will be an opportunity to address the GANHRI strategy for the coming years. Stakeholders will also discuss the action plan, which will commemorate the thirty anniversary of the Paris Principles guiding the work of NHRIs and the 14th International Conference, which will be held at the end of 2023.
Presidents and representatives of NHRIs and networks will take part in this event.
