The National Human Rights Council (CNDH), in partnership with the Jeune Chambre Internationale de Rabat (JCI Rabat), is organizing a series of workshops focused on the protection of fundamental human rights, titled "Let's talk about rights". The inaugural workshop will be held on Thursday, September 26, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Rabat - Driss Benzekri Institute for Human Rights, Morocco.
These workshops will run until November 7, 2024. They are part of a joint project between the CNDH and JCI Rabat Association that aims at training young people in the field of human rights. Participants will be equipped with the necessary tools to become committed actors in civil society.
The program includes seven training workshops designed to enhance the capacities and knowledge of participats regarding the fundamental human rights concepts. The initiative also seeks to raise awareness of contemporary challenges and issues related to human rights as recognized universally.
Facilitated by the CNDH staff, the workshops will cover a range of legal topics, including: Fundamental concepts of human rights and their evolution; International humanitarian law; Development of human rights in Morocco from colonial resistance to the 2011 Constitution; Equality and non-discrimination as the foundation for rights protection; The rights of migrants and Morocco’s migration policy; Combating human trafficking; human rights in the digital space; Mediation techniques for conflict resolution, etc.
