The Regional Human Rights Commission (CRDH) of the Drâa-Tafilalet Region, in coordination with the Court of Appeal of Errachidia and the Regional Academy of Education and Training, will organize a seminar on "Children in Conflict with the Law, Reality and Challenges." The event will take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 9:30 am, at the Dar Almowaten in Errachidia, Morocco.
This seminar aims to foster discussions on the issues and challenges faced by child justice system, including various dimensions such as: protection, legal framework, health and reintegration. It seeks to build a constructive partnership among institutions and bodies to strengthen joint efforts and ensure the necessary protection for children in conflict with the law in light of international treaties and conventions and national laws.
Participants will explore several critical issues, including: the procedural role of the Public Prosecution in addressing cases involving children in conflict with the law, Roles and challenges of the child justice system, Perspective of the Bar Association regarding the child justice system, Functions and roles of schools in preventing children from entering into conflict with the law, role of Supervised Liberty Delegates in addressing cases of children in conflict with the law, role of civil society in preventing this phenomenon, etc.
Representatives from governmental and non-governmental sectors, judges, lawyers, judicial police officers, university professors and students, as well as civil and legal stakeholders, experts, elected officials and media professionals will participate in this event.
