The Regional Human Rights Commission (CRDH) of the Souss-Massa region and the regional section of the National Union of Moroccan Journalists Souss-Massa organized a seminar on the "Freedom of expression and journalism in the age of digital transformation ", on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the City of Innovation in Agadir, Morocco.
This seminar aligns with the CRDH’s 2024 action program. It aims to foster dialogue on the evolving digital landscape in Morocco, exploring its potential for enhancing opinion expression and information exchange. The discussion addressed the challenges associated with the right to access information and freedom of expression, emphasizing the importance to protect individuals’ rights and privacy.
Mr. Azzeddine Fathaoui, Regional Secretary of the National Union of Moroccan Journalists in Agadir, and Mr. Tijani Hamzaoui, CRDH Executive Director, launched the opening session of this seminar.
This seminar focused on three pivotal themes, including "Freedom of expression and opinion through International Human Rights Instruments,” “The Concept of Freedom According to International Human Rights Standards,” and “The Role of Trade Unions in Establishing Professional Ethics.”
