On Thursday, July 25, 2024, the Regional Human Rights Commission (CRDH) of the Souss-Massa region facilitated a meeting titled "Promoting Human Rights through Volunteering" at the Higher School of Technology in Agadir, Morocco, organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication.
Over 450 participants, aged between 18 and 22 from various prefectures and provinces within the region participated in this meeting, which is part of the second edition of the National Program "Volunteer".
In this context, Mr. Tijani Hamzaoui, CRDH Executive Director, shed light on the CRDH mandate to protect, promote and monitor the effectiveness of human rights in regional policies. He also highlighted significant milestones in human rights history and the legal framework regulating the National Human Rights Council (CNDH).
Ms. Fadoua Rajouani, CRDH member, underlined the national context surrounding the establishment of the CNDH, focusing on the pivotal role of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) as a pioneering step in the process of strengthening democracy in Morocco.
The meeting fostered active engagement among the youth, who shared their visions and aspirations regarding citizenship and human rights, underscoring the importance of their involvement in promoting a rights-based culture in society.
