The Regional Human Rights Commission (CRDH) in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, in partnership with the Tangier Bar Association, will organize a training session on International Human Rights Conventions and Effective Access to Justice on Thursday, June 13, 2024 in Tangier, Morocco.
The session is part of the partnership agreement between the CRDH and the Bar Association, aligned with the CRDH’s annual action plan to promote culture human rights. The training aims to enhance attorneys’ understanding of international conventions and emphasize their significance as a reference in pleadings related to defending and protecting fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as combating violations. It also seeks to strengthen lawyers’ roles in pursuing redress and positively influencing the justice system.
Professor Anas Saadoun, a judge assigned to the CNDH Presidency, will facilitate this training session.
The program will explore the effectiveness of human rights, the relevance of international conventions, and the role of lawyers in integrating these conventions in key judicial contexts.
Workshops will cover significant international conventions concerning children, women, torture, disability, etc. alongside discussions on the lawyers’ institution role.
The session will start with introductory statements from CRDH President, President of the Bar Association and Chair of the Rights and Freedoms Committee of the Bar Association.
