The Regional Human Rights Commission (CRDH) of Beni Mellal-Khenifra held its 12th meeting on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Regional Agricultural Chamber of Beni Mellal, Morocco.

The agenda included CRDH President address, alongside with detailed reports from the CRDH Standing Committees. Participants will present and discuss five thematic reports on various human rights issues within the region.

Mr. Ahmed Taoufik Zainabi, CRDH President, provided an overview of the outcomes from the 14th session of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) General Assembly. He highlighted the CRDH’s achievements during the current mandate, which included a review of thematic reports and initiatives focused on protecting and promoting human rights, as well as monitoring and evaluating public policies in the region. Mr. Zainabi welcomed the positive results achieved and  praised the collaborative spirit of the CRDH members and staff.

The second point in the agenda focused on the three CRDH Permanent Committees reports on protecting, promoting and monitoring human rights, as well as evaluating public policies and regional programs.

Participants also presented and discussed five thematic reports prepared by the CRDH members. These included:
- Report on social protection in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region, 
- Report on the implementation of the official status of Amazigh language in the region and its transition from law to practice, 
- Report on media monitoring of protest movements in the region, 
- Report on youth integration within public policies,
- Report on complaints received by the CRDH during the current mandate.
