The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) will host, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at its headquarters in Rabat, a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Council and the National Commission in charge of coordinating measures to combat and prevent human trafficking (CNCLT). The event will be attended by Ms. Amina Bouayach, the CNDH Chairperson, and Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, Minister of Justice, in his capacity as Head of the Commission, along with members of the Commission and chairs of the Council’s regional commissions.

This MoU aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two parties in supporting regional coordination commissions in the field of combating human trafficking, and to establish a framework for institutional collaboration in this area. It also seeks to involve civil society organizations in the management and operation of shelters, as well as in providing care and support for victims.

The initiative is part of efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the national response to this complex and multi-dimensional crime, by improving early identification of potential victims, facilitating their referral to assistance and protection services, and strengthening regional and local coordination among institutional, judicial, security, social, and civil society actors.

This cooperation will be based on relevant international frameworks, with the aim of reinforcing victim protection and improving the effectiveness of field interventions in addressing evolving forms of exploitation.
