The Regional Human Rights Commission (CRDH) of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region organized the sixth edition of the “Human Rights Caravan” at the local prison in Dakhla on Monday, May 27, 2024, in implementation of its annual action program. This initiative is part of the CRDH’s broader “Human Rights Caravan” program.


Ms. Maimouna Essayed, CRDH President, delivered her opening statement in which she emphasized the context and objectives of this event. It aims to foster human rights culture and enhance cooperation among stakeholders to uphold the law and protect human rights.


The program of this event included three thematic workshops focusing on mental health, self-development, the significance of values and prison literature for detainees, a workshop on gender approach for institution’s employees, and a round table on the role of “law enforcement officials in protecting prisoners’ rights.” 


Representatives of the CRDH, local prison administration, presidency of the Oued Eddahab Court of First Instance, Public Prosecution Office in the same court, regional gendarmerie, regional security in Dakhla, Regional Ulemas Council Participated in this event.
