This meeting was an opportunity for the CNDH Chairperson to confer with Mrs. Bachelet on the state of human rights in Morocco and the work of the CNDH in terms of preventing torture and monitoring human rights situations.

In this regard, Mrs. Bouayach highlighted the new mandates of the CNDH provided by its reorganizational law 76-15 and the new approach adopted by the Council. An approach based on prevention, protection and promotion of human rights and which allow the CNDH to act closer to citizens, she stated.

Within this context, the CNDH President shed light on the three mechanisms of the CNDH; namely the National Mechanism for the Preventive of Torture (NMP), the National Complaint Mechanism for Children Victims of Violations of Their Rights and the National Mechanism for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
