Promoting cultural heritage: CNDH’s commission in Laayoune honors memory of Oueld Yara, Sahraoui-Hassani poet

The Regional Human Rights Commission of Laayoune-Essmara held on July 21st 2014 in Laayoune a ceremony to give tribute to Sahraoui poet late Mahjoub Oueld Attayeb Oueld Yara.

This ceremony was held in line with the CNDH and its commissions’ efforts to promote and preserve cultural memory and the tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the Southern Provinces. These efforts also aim to give tribute to the symbols of the Saharawi culture, honor their memory and archive their works to enrich the Sahrawi library.

A collection of Oueld Yara's poems were published on the occasion.Several academicians and poets came to gave tribute to the poet and his works. They shed light on the beauty and depth of the Hassani poetry in general and Oueld Yara’s poetry in particular.
