The Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights published in 2006 "Frequently Asked Questions on a Human Rights-based Approach to Development Cooperation". The goal of this publication, according to Ms. Louise Arbour, High Commissioner for Human Rights, is to advance shared understanding about how the goals of human rights and development can be achieved through more effective development cooperation, within wider strategies and coalitions for change.

Community Reparation: Deadline for Request for Proposals

September 4, 2008 was the deadline for the request for project proposals meant for local associations in targeted provinces by the CDG, a Moroccan financial group who is in charge of executing the program within the scope of implementing the recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) as regards the community reparation program.

IER Approach to Enforced Disappearance at the HRC

A delegation of the Advisory Council on Human Rights, composed of Messrs. Mahjoub El Haiba and Abdelhak Mossadeq, respectively Secretary General and Chargé de mission, participated in the 9th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC), held in Geneva from 8 to 26 September 2008. The delegation participated in the proceedings of the Panel on Missing Persons, held on September 22-23. Mr El Haiba made a speech on the Moroccan experience in transitional justice and the approach adopted by the IER to enforced disappearance.
